The Weather

Have you ever noticed how much people talk about the weather? I hadn't really ever thought about this until Adam mentioned it. Since then, I've noticed that it's virtually impossible to have a conversation (or to overhear one) that doesn't include a mention of the current weather, the forecast, or a weather catastrophe somewhere. Tonight, at the bank, I overheard a customer (four cars over) and the bank teller conversing about the weather. Even little kids are fascinated. It's been raining here most of the day, so D decided to sing "Rain, Rain, Go Away" all day. So glad she was feeling well enough to sing (only one mention of not feeling well).
As for me, I can't wait for the first snow day. There's just something so exciting about waking up to find out that, surprise, you have the day off!

Tomorrow's challenge: See how far you are into your Saturday before you talk to someone about the weather.

  1. OK, I made it through coffee all right, no weather conversation, but then I delivered a sandwich for Jenn at the Health Center (she had a Parkinson's Support Group meeting this AM). Her favorite colleague was sitting in the office and I asked how she was enjoying the lovely weather? Oh well!

  4. Hi Maryann! It is great to hear from you! I, too, can't believe that you are 14. I hope that you and your family will be able to come to Iowa next June to spend time with your aunts, uncles, and cousins. We plan to have lots of fun, but it won't be as much fun if you're not here! : )

  5. Hi everyone! Have been lax in posting comments.Happy Unbirthday, Maryann! Our Lane is 14 and will be 15 in January. Has his own car and drives to school. Has had 1 accident (that we know of.) His Dad promptly repaired the booboo and off he drove again. He's a good kid, so hope nothing else happens.
We had breakfast, dinner and supper when we were growing up. We here in ND call it breakfast ( usually brunch) lunch and supper. Clay and I don't eat breakfast since he goes to work at 7 and I'm not up yet. Today, we had brunch with Penny at Perkins. Visited Grandma and went to church services with her at 2 PM.
Last night, I attended a "Dakota Air Radio Show" which the Choralaires performed in. It will be broadcast on Prairie Public Radio the following days:
    Sat, Nov 20, 2PM, CT
Sun. Nov 21, 11 PM, CT
Fri. Nov 26, 7 PM, CT
Sat. Dec. 4, 7 PM, CT
I will send a list of the performers by snail mail. It was exciting and very good!
Hope you are feeling better, Lu. Take care of yourself, please. I know your family needs you, but you have to BE there to take care of them. We will have both Thanksgiving and Christmas here in Jamestown this year, so GMA can attend. T @ Penny's and C @ our house. TTYL
