After avoiding the stores all day, curiosity won out, and I headed for Walmart at 10 PM tonight. No long lines...still lots to buy. The store was surprisingly clean (last year, I went to Younkers on Black Friday Night and, because there was merchandise strewn everywhere, I could hardly walk through the store). The only problem I had at Wally World was dodging the night stockers and their overloaded carts. Lots of customers, too. (I'm always a little surprised by the number of families, small kids in tow, out shopping late at night.) The customers and store clerks all seemed to still be in good moods. In fact, I rounded a corner in the automotive section (I was searching for power steering fluid) and bumped into a couple of teenage girls, both holding large containers of antifreeze, rocking out to Just The Way You Are (which was blasting from a car stereo). Fun at Walmart on a Friday night! That's Waterloo. My Black Friday/holiday purchases? 2 containers of Snow Melt (gonna need it sooner or later), windshield washer fluid, Bounce, mouthwash, a Diaper Genie refill, gum, candles, and a Christmas gift for Ty. And, the power steering fluid.
Were any of you brave enough/ crazy enough to venture out today?
We stayed at home Black Friday, all cozy and listened tp NEVER-ENDING football games and guess what is on again this morning! You were brave indeed Farm Girl to go out that late at night, have you not heard of the boogey man? My older sisters used to tease us younger ones about him all the time. Wat is not the safest place, esp. the malls, esp. late at night, esp. during this season when so many people are needy! Did you get any of your dining room boxes emptied? T's birthday is just around the corner, as if you need a reminder. Got your letter today Lu, so sorry to hear that you still are suffering with shingles. You do so much for your family, have they stepped up to be your helpers? Happy Thanksgiving to Butrfly's family today at P's. Can only imagine the food on that table, soooo many good cooks!
