Morg's

It's probably safe to assume that we'll want to eat breakfast "in" next June. However, if it is any one's heart's desire to go out for breakfast, then Morg's in downtown Waterloo is the place to go. Morg's, established in 1960, is a family-run diner that has an interesting staff as well as amazing food. Janie Brown, a waitress there for almost 30 years, unlocks the door for the regulars at 4:30 AM. If she oversleeps, they head for her house to check on her and vice versa. When Derek worked at the gas station, he said that she often stopped there to buy gas. A couple of times she gave him a gift card for Morg's, and she remembered him when he stopped for breakfast. For awhile, we went often enough that she knew exactly what we would order...just like the regulars. At Morg's, everything is made from scratch and the portions are huge (pancakes the size of a plate...my favorite...the pecan pancake.) No matter who I'm with, we always split a meal...I'd like to meet the person who can polish off an entire breakfast by him/her self!

Happy 14th Birthday, Maryann!

  1. Why aren't we having the June get-together in Brussels? Glad butrfly lady made it safely back to ND, J had a wonderful week-end with friends in I C, and it was made complete with a quick stop on the way back home at farm girls house and a quick stop at J, A, and T's house. We are so-o-o lucky to have family close and to have family who don't mind a quick visit just to say hi!
