Sometimes the conversations at my house are a little difficult to comprehend. Take my conversation with K this afternoon...
Me: K, it's time to change your pull-up.
K: And then can I change my mind?
I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about, so I repeated my statement:
Me: K, it's time to change your pull-up.
K: Then can I change my mind?
I decided to go along with it, mainly because I wanted to see what she was thinking. So I said, OK, K, then you can change your mind.
After the pull-up change, K went out into the living room, put all six of our blue kids' chairs in a row, and placed her stuffed animals on them. So that's what changing your mind means to a two-year-old. Wow, I am really out of touch!!! : )
Hi gang, silence from Fres the past 10 days because I have shingles. Awful. If you haven’t had your shingles shot, do it ASAP. Some insurance plans don’t cover it. If yours won’t, holler & I’ll gladly help. I don’t wanna anyone to go thru what I’ve been goin’ thru.
ReplyDeletePlease resist any impulse to buy a get-well card. (I’m well already—almost.) Instead, you might give those $ to whatever local organization will feed the poor on Thanksgiving.
Do you remember Mom saying “Kitty change your mind”? That’s what I say to Wiley when she comes to the door, stands there undecided, then heads back to where she was.
Maryann’s here now & will help me upload this message. We’ll celebrate her birthday tomorrow, a school holiday, as I wasn’t up to it Sunday. “7 come 11,” I told her.
Peter and all the 4th graders went on a 13-hour field trip to San Francisco today. He was too excited to sleep last night.
Hi Lucille! I'm sorry to hear that you've not been feeling well. I didn't even know that there's such a thing as a shingles shot. I don't remember mom saying "Kitty change your mind?" . What does it mean? Was she talking about an actual cat? Here's hoping that Maryann had a terrific belated celebration and that Peter had fun in San Fran!
