Sound the Alarm!
This afternoon, I noticed a very pungent and unusual smell drifting through the house. I immediately thought, "Oh great. Just my luck...now, something's on fire." Then I remembered...I'd set the oven on the cleaning cycle. Obviously, since I didn't recognize the smell, it's something I haven't done for A LONG TIME. (Don't need to since I never cook!)

As you who facebook know, Jenn has been encouraged to take part in Ms. Wheelchair Iowa and if named that, will go to Michigan later this summer to take part in Ms. Wheelchair USA. She was not enthused at first because of the misconception many have that this is another "beauty" contest, it does have a tiara and chest ribbon involved! VGM, a company in Waterloo is her sponsor, she met representatives from their company at some of the many meetings she attends. As far as we know, there are only 2 candidates. The interview, luncheon, and speech take place in Iowa City on Sat, March 26. Jenn says, if chosen, she will "undumb" the contest by doing away with the "hoopla" and make it more about advocacy. I heard birds singing on my way to coffee this morning. Take care everyone!
ReplyDeleteI sent my congrats and encouragements to Jenn vis Facebook. I'm sure she will win since she has been such an advocate for so many things that have to do with handicap accessible areas. We had good weathers here today, too, but a storm is brewing in the Pacific so who knows. Hope it waits until after the weekend (Running of the Green). Thanks for the green background, Farm Girl.
