I spent time today...
a. mixing music
b. mixing cookie dough
c. mixing tempera paint
The answer is...
c. mixing paint.
We are painting flowers. This afternoon, I tried to make purple paint, but it turned out really dark (almost brown). Tonight I discovered that I didn't have any green paint in the house and didn't want to go to the store, so I mixed blue and yellow. Still pretty dark, but I'm almost out of yellow. The good news is that the kids don't really care about the colors; they're just happy to be painting!!
Sounds like fun, Sheryl. Hope the flowers turn out well. I spent today taking Grandma to see a PA in Gackle. (Clay went, too because I wouldn't take her alone with a broken arm and a wheel chair.) I've spent part of every day this week at the nursing home so tomorrow is my day off. Will have Maddie on Sat nite instead of Thurs this week. Snow in the forecast for us - up to 5 inches. Don't need it. There is water everywhere and flooding, too. Have been feeling some better. Have to get some energy to clean house and get out my SPRING clothes so I can wear them in a snow storm. Glad the Waverlyites made it to Philly safely. Have a good weekend everyone. By the way, Lu, I'll be wearing whatever is in my closet to IA, so please don't worry about clothes. I'll be thrilled to see everyone!!
ReplyDeleteMom saw that it was only 29 in Bismarck this AM....stay warm North Dakotians!! I'd like to hear some of Farm girl's mixed music :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a bit nippy today and will be tomorrow too. I started wearing sandals at the beginning of this week since it was in the 50s which is like a heat wave here. You'd be amazed at how many people are wearing shorts(my kids included). Lu, I love shopping at thrift stores and rummage sales and that's where I buy the majority of my clothes and I too find some with the store tags still on them. People will comment on an outfit and I always blurt out-"Thanks-I got it at a 2nd hand store". I don't know why I feel I have to tell them that instead of just saying thank you.
ReplyDeleteJenn & Owly Lady -you are quite the jet-setters-sounds like you are doing some exciting things.
Farm Girl-I read an article in the newspaper called Annie's Mailbox and someone asked-What does mind your P's and Q's mean? They pretty much gave the same response as you had.
Looking forward to this summer! TTYL
Bev: “Clean house”? What's that? JK
ReplyDeleteYou still haven't explained how Leah broke her arm. Or did I miss one of your postings?
Wendy: buying at thrift shops & rummage sales is a way of recycling. That's what we're supposed to do! Good for you! When you tell people that's where you got something, maybe they'll be encouraged to do the same.
Hi Bev! It sounds like you did get the snow you were expecting...at least you didn't have a tornado, too!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn! I'll mix up some "Old MacDonald", "Twinkle Twinkle". and "If You're Happy and You Know It" for you!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy! Did you trade your sandals for some snow boots? It was COLD here this weekend...we even got a little snow!
ReplyDeleteHi Lucille! Do you do any of your shopping at garage sales? They are very popular here.
