How many of you watched William and Kate's wedding? My thoughts:
What pomp and circumstance! (As if the royals would have it any other way)
What a gorgeous dress!
What stylish hats!
What a cutie Harry turned out to be (who knew?)!
What an expense!!!!! I heard that it cost approx. $65 million dollars!!!! (I wonder how many starving children that would feed.)
My guess: you’ve just had 3 more young moms come to you with child-care requests.
ReplyDeleteSheryl, we got the survey Apr. 21. So many tempting choices! It’s like having to pick from 31 flavors. —You even pre-folded the ballot for a quick fit into the return envelope. You’d be a dynamite secretary!
Dave, thanks for the latest e’s with pictures of sweet little Sofia. A big girl at 8 lb + & 20-something inches, but she still looks TINY to me. —So you & Nancy are going to Peru for Christmas. Neat! I keep running across more & more tidbits about that country. Example, the famous singer Yma Sumac was born there. At one time I had one of her LPs. A range of 5 octaves!
To my knowledge the champion babe for sleeping through the night was Robert’s great-nephew Conner. Kym said that he snoozed all night right from Night One. Astounding! While pregnant, Kym took a yoga class just for expectant moms & thought maybe it helped.
It wasn’t too long ago that my generation was moving. Are these years right?
Sheryl back to Waterloo 1989
Dave to Aurora ’94
Lu to Fresno ’97 (that one I’m sure of)
Karel to LeMars 2002
Bev to Jamestown house ’03
Diane to new house ’07
Now it’s our kids doing another shuffle. Apr. 19, Derek. Apr. 21, Leslie. & it sounds like Amy will soon be at her new house.
Les’s move went quite smoothly. She & children are settling in well at their new digs. Maryann LOVES being able to walk to school in 5 minutes. We were invited to Shari’s for Easter brunch but had already committed to Plan A: church just up the street from Les’s new apartment, followed by a fine meal fixed by members of the congregation.
My classmate Bev Arvin sent many clippings about the Mapleton tornado. [Leslie heard about it on the national news.] When I called Bev A Easter morning she said the banner headline in that day’s S C Journal was DID GOD SAVE MAPLETON? (since no one was killed). Bev W, did you know that Kay Lillie’s son, age 51, died “after a brief illness”? Bev A says it was kidney trouble due to alcoholism.
Diane, sorry that you caught some awful bug. —Did you hear that Greg Mortenson (3 Cups of Tea) is in hot water? —I wonder whether any comedians have picked up on the TEA-HOT WATER connection.
Yes, Farm Gal, you express things delightfully and your titles are part of the pleasure. Some of my favorites:
Hospital or Hollywood?
PDA (Pools, Diane, & Alligators)
Last Comic Sitting
Teeth, Tears, Tuesday
Not Just at Convenience Stores
Hey, gang, if you could use some giant chuckles right now, reread “Things,” Farm Girl’s Sept 30 blog.
Hi Lucille! Glad to hear that your survey arrived. So far, I have five back and am anxious to start comparing "Top Tens". In contrast to Champion Sleeper Conner were our three. Not one of them slept all night until they were two!!! I think it was 1987 when we moved back to Waterloo. (I had to figure out when Jaime was in kindergarten in order to remember!) I'm glad that Leslie and co. are settled into their new home! : )
