  1. Farm Girl, I'm going to try and guess what you did on Sat- did you go and treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure, a massage or a day at the spa? My other guesses-bought a new vehicle, went skydiving, or went out on the town with your girlfriends!

  2. Said an expletive, like DARN IT! ? Or vacuumed a ceiling? If you’ve done that more than once, you’re ahead of me. In all these years I’ve vacuumed only one ceiling; once was enough.

Sheryl, as much as possible, why don’t you just e-mail the schedule? You have enough to do without all the extra work of snailing. We can each print out our own copy.

Re. Cake, May 11. These have been in my recipe box for decades. The cards are yellowed, the ink a bit faded, but Sheryl’s distinctive handwriting — i’s dotted w/ circles, perfect r’s & a’s — is still easily readable. I’ve made this cake & it’s scrumptious. The vanilla was my idea; don’t remember why.

    Banana Cake Sheryl Weller

1 Pillsbury Plus white cake mix
    1 cup water
    2 eggs
2 bananas mashed with 1 tsp. baking soda

Mix and bake according to package directions. Let cool completely and frost.

    Frosting for Banana Cake

    3 oz. cream cheese
    1/2 cup margarine
    2 cups powdered sugar
    1/2 cup nuts and/or coconut
    1/4 tsp. vanilla

    Beat to mix.

Peter & I will arrive W’loo 8:41 p.m. June 17, a Delta flt from MPLS. We’ll stay 5 nites at the Super 8 on LaPorte Rd. I think Dave will stay there too. Neat! Can’t wait to C U all!

June 17 is the night Maryann & the other lucky duck 8th graders on her tour will see WICKED on Broadway. They’re required to doll up; we had fun shopping for just the right dress. She gets back the 18th but a friend’s mom will collect her from the airport.

  4. Hi Lucille! Me? Expletives? Never! (Ha ha...JK) I'd forgotten about that banana cake recipe. I think it may have originally come from Neal's sister, Ginny. Maryann is going to New York? I am SO jealous...it's my favorite place! Jaime and I saw Wicked in Chicago...loved it! Can't wait to see you and Peter!

  5. What wheels did you buy? Did Adam and/or Aaron help you decide? Congrats, you have been limping along too long with your Durango! It takes a young thinker--go Wendy!
