This morning, K and D were arguing over a toy. I ushered them to separate parts of the room and put the toy away. A couple of minutes later, D approached K and said, "Sorry, K". K's reply... "It's OK, D. Let's hug".
Earlier today, D came walking down the hallway with no clothes on. I said, "D, it's too cold to not wear clothes. Besides, you have to wear clothes at my house". She turned around and ran in the opposite direction. Since she can't yet dress herself, I followed her and found her standing by the front door (still clothesless). "D, where are you going?". Her answer? "Swimming!"
Me... "K, please come here".
K..."I'm on my way!"
Yes, I knew the funeral was today but realized too late that my flowers offer wasn't gonna work. A monetary gift would be better: there are so many extra expenses at the time of a funeral. I'll send Marilyn a check for $75. Just chip in as you wish.
ReplyDeleteOur laugh yesterday: an evaluate-your-child's-school form came home. Peter offered to start filling it out for me. First item: ethnic group. He bubbled Cambodian. “No, Peter, those are Hmongs. We're white.” He explained, “I thought that said Combination.”
a memory. early 1940s, at Ute: 5, maybe 6 years old, I came out to the living room to make a wondrous discovery. Hanging from a branch of our little Christmas tree was a dress just the right size for my doll. Mom & Dad urged me to take a step to the right. There hung some doll’s pajamas. Now I had the idea & continued around the tree to find a little coat & hat & another little dress. I was thrilled to pieces! Mom had done all that sewing while I was in school or after I went to bed at night. Dad had fashioned tiny coat hangers from green wire. I can't remember that any other gift has ever delighted me as much.
Hello, Lucille! Peter's got the right idea; we're all a combination. Love your memory...I can picture you walking around that tree. Thanks for sending a check to Marilyn...I'll be glad to send you some $.
