According to Buddy the Elf, there are four main food groups:
1) candy
2) candy canes
3) candy corns
4) syrup
I, however, prefer my own version of the food groups, of which there are only two:
1) everything salty
2) everything sweet

How about some chex mix in one hand (Owly man makes it in the microwave, not as much flavor but lots less time) and some peanut brittle in the other hand (Owly man found some at the new Fareway store from Palmers candies in Sioux City) and to top it off some cookies that Jenn spent two long afternoons making! I hope you are on the mend with your trip to see youngest son very soon! How is grandson? Jenn and I actually have withdrawl symptoms when we haven't been to your day care for a while. Did I tell you I tried the new coffee place down the street from you and reallly like it, much better coffee than Starbucks. Take good care of yourself Farm Girl!!!!!!

We were so sorry to hear of Karel's mother-in-law's (Dorothy Bauer) passing. Her funeral is Thursday, Dec 23 at 1:30 at the First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. The Rohde Funeral Home gave me the name of 2 florists in Moville so I will call tomorrow and have a plant sent from our 5 families. I wish that we could go but not able to.
ReplyDeleteOwly Lady sure is hooting alot, lately! Farm Girl what did the Dr. say about your cough, etc? When do you fly out to see your youngest? I know you've told me already. Glad to hear that Ty is feeling better! Jenn had to reschedule her wheelchair eval in Des Moines from tomorrow til Jan sometime. Maybe I should stand on a corner and ring a bell over a kettle, would take forever to earn enough to buy the wheelchair she wants. She should just ask Santa!!!
ReplyDeleteThe doctor asked if I smoke...guess my lungs are pretty "rattly"! No fever, though. He said I should get a flu shot when I'm completely well. (Get a flu shot AFTER you've had the flu...sound perfectly logical to me.) I'll be glad to help you ring bells. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to have someone drop in a gold coin!!!! : )
