A Shred of Change

Last Sunday, I purchased 30 Day Shred, a work-out video. I've been working through it every night since then...pushing myself a little more each night. According to an online dictionary I consulted, the word shred means a small amount, a particle. So, I'm wondering if I can expect a small amount of change or maybe just a particle. I guess I'm going to find out.

Happy Birthday, Wade!

  1. You GO girl :) I spent a little over an hour at the W...did 4 laps around the b-ball gym and then worked with my trainer! Of course all of this was done in my "demo" chair which is fabulous. Think I'm going to go ahead and order it - in Granny Smith green because..."it's not easy being green" :) Happy Thursday all!

  2. Our Iowa travel guide came yesterday. It’s a beaut. Thanks, Farm Girl! As happens all the time, I couldn’t sleep, so I spent midnight hours looking up practically every Iowa town I’ve ever been in. The photos are splendid. Some of my faves: pp. 7 (the capitol), 16, 30, & 50. Bev, remember when the folks took us to the Grotto at West Bend? Diane, maybe you remember it too, though you were just a little tyke. The Barn on the Bluff at Elkader is described on p. 157. It sounds terrific. 4 bathrooms, full kitchen, grill, can sleep 30 people.

Sheryl, speaking for myself, don’t feel that you have to answer my comments. You’re still v. much employed! & I’m retired! So concentrate on those boxes & if there’s time for replies to sisters, that’s a bonus.

Say, maybe you should challenge your oldest sis to a race: who can first finish her box-emptying task? I have so many, mainly in the garage, most of ’em gathering dust since we moved 14 years ago. —Is the answer to the “rat” puzzler you posed early on that you’re a packrat?

Ah, the auto club. Bless ’em, they’ve rescued us so many times. Flat tires. Dead batteries. Keys locked in car. & once in L.A. I ran out of gas. Dumb! But the AAA drivers are unfailingly gallant, even when they’d have good reason to scold. … Yes indeed, a book, a flashlite, AND a blanket. Food helps too! I always keep a can of almonds in the car.

Diane: Amazon didn’t give a choice of ring sizes but the one Maryann got (& loves) fits her thumb. It’s really pretty, with the stone or whatever it is going the full circle, instead of just on top.

Bev: Those midgets are a traveling troupe, right? Surely there aren’t enough tiny people in the Streeter/Jamestown area. Have you ever seen one of their shows? Have Wendy’s boys, such good wrestlers, gone?

Sheryl, I’m happy for you that you acquired a new w. machine. What I need, but am too stubborn/cheap to spring for, is a new dishwasher. Ours does a good job on the lower level but I have to prewash each item in the top rack. This has been going on for months.

  3. Hey Jenn! Way to go with your workouts...wish I could say I'm doing as well. You're right...it's not easy being green. But, since somebody's gotta do it, thanks for rolling up to the plate!!! Have a great weekend! : )

  4. Hi Lucille! Glad to hear that you received your Iowa Guide. I think it's pretty impressive. It reminds me that there really is a lot to do and see here.
The Motor Club...yes, they are invaluable. I've had my membership for almost 20 years. Neal got the membership for me when Derek started traveling with a hockey team; N knew that I'd often be out on the road alone...and he was right. One of the first things the M. C. people always ask is, "Are you in a safe location?". Don't know what they'd do if I said, "No"...probably send the police.
Want to challenge me to a "box emptying" race? You're on! Notice that I've already started (see tally above under the blog title.
    Dishwasher? That's another story! : (
    Have a nice weekend! : )
