that my weekend posts this month have all mentioned water. I love being on the water (notice that I didn't say "in" the water). I've got a lot of "on the water" stories so, if you're in Iowa next June, you might hear a few. Tonight, I spent some time looking for a boat ride called "The Spirit of Greene". This ride no longer exists (perhaps because of major flooding in Greene in '08), but I did find another possibility. Clear Lake, Iowa (approx. 1 hour northwest of Waverly) has a riverboat called "Lady of the Lake" which features public excursions. In addition, Clear Lake Boats rents boats by the hour, including a two-level pontoon with a slide (great fun for kids of all ages)! Clear Lake also has a nice tea room where we ladies could have lunch. Am going to keep throwing ideas your way...bet you didn't know that NE Iowa had so much to offer!

Lu says . . . How can I make this say “Lu says” instead of “Anonymous says”?
ReplyDeleteThe phrase Great job is overused but I hafta say Great job to you, Sheryl. Your blog is one of the best things brought to us by the internet. If not THE best!
We get the leaf border loud & clear. Snazzy! I wouldn’t mind if you kept it for all 4 seasons. Those are actual leaves you raked up in your yard, right? JK.
TTYL? I thought it meant Tony Tiger Yearns Leopardly. or This Thursday You’ll Laugh. or Thirty-Three Yards Long. But Maryann helped me figure it out.
Yard work, ugh. Robert & I both grew up on farms but have never felt at home behind rake or mower. Luckily our neighbor Russell makes his living doing such things. TTYNT
Hi Lucille! I'm not sure what you can do about your Lu says/Anonymous dilemma, but I think you may have figured it out!?! Speaking of leaves, my neighbor raked leaves today (including some of those that blew into my yard...yea!). Thank goodness that Maryann is computer literate. Most of what I know about the internet and its related lingo, I learned from A, J, and D when they were teenagers. TTYNT Sheryl : )
