It was a beautiful fall day here...great football weather! Diane, Jenn, Jaime, Ty and I took a little road trip to Cedar Rapids. We had brunch at Granite City, shopped at the mall, picked up a "Kathy's Pies" chocolate pie and some monster cookies, and bought donuts at Donutland. And, Jaime purchased a huge caramel apple at HyVee, which we ate with our leftover Chinese for dinner. A delicious day! Ty didn't nap all day (he was having too much fun) and fell asleep at my house at 4:45 PM. He's still sleeping, so J left him for the night with a promise that he'd stay asleep until at least 6 AM. Think I'll go to bed early just in case he doesn't!
Back to next June...Waterloo has an amazing water park. I'm planning to organize a "water park day" for anyone and everyone who wants to go. The park has something for everyone, even if you just want to go and watch others have fun. I'll talk in more detail about the park in tomorrow night's post. Until then...
So how long DID he sleep?? Thanks for yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteHi, farm girl & all the farm kids reading this,
ReplyDeleteSheryl, your blog is a hoot. Love it! Now I’m newly aware of what a clever writer you are. — — In my bday letter to you I mentioned your energetic-ness. Shoulda put it in all caps, ENERGETIC-NESS. Those lucky lil ones, to be under your wing all day.
Didn’t learn about this blog till just before I left for Chicago. And since I got back it’s been a madhouse of playing catch up. Only yesterday, with Maryann here, did I find time to start reading the many e-mails etc that have been waiting for my mouse clicks. (Actually Robert’s mouse; it’s his computer. And he’s read all the abovementioned, admiringly.)
Yes, though I wouldn’t believe it till I was on the plane the 23rd, I did go to my Peace Corps reunion, and enjoyed it just as much as the ones in 06 & 08. The Windy City is gorgeous. And the members of my PC group, Philippines VI, are a fine bunch. Leslie & her two stayed here to care for Robert & did a really good job. Still, he told me repeatedly “I’m sure glad you’re home.” — — He’s improved lots in the past couple months, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone to Illinois.
When I got here Monday night the 27th there was much birthday mail, with a generous follow-up of cards, letters, & ph. calls all this week. I owe answers to a bunch of farm kids, but for now, thanks! It was a v. happy birthday.
Now to see if Maryann can help me send this comment on its way.
Hi Jenn! 8:30 AM is the time that I like to wake up on Sunday mornings. Tyler and I were up three hours and forty-five minutes before that! : ) You are welcome. It was a fun day!
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous...It's great to hear from you! I was happy to learn that you were able to get away to your reunion and that you had such a nice time. I really like Chicago...haven't been there for a couple of years. Hi to everyone in your family. Talk to you soon...FG
